Our story
Moving was just part of life growing up — my family and I moved often enough that by the time I was 18, I'd been through it more than ten times. You learn things doing that many moves as a kid that you don't learn any other way: how to pack a box so it doesn't fall apart, how to protect a corner going through a doorway, how much a "quick move" actually costs you in time if nobody's planned it out.
By the time I was a student, family and relatives started asking me to help with their own moves — informally at first, then often enough that I was getting real, hands-on experience without really planning to. That's where the moving side of things actually started for me, well before Mount Si Movers existed as a company.
I started Mount Si Movers in 2022, based right here in North Bend — the name isn't an accident. Mount Si rises right over the edge of town, and it's part of why we're here: we love this area, the view of the mountain included, and it felt right to build a business named after it rather than something generic.
What actually drives how we work day to day comes down to three things: responsibility, honesty, and being upfront about pricing and timing. I'd heard from people — friends, other folks around the industry — about moving companies canceling on clients last-minute, sometimes the day of the move. I never understood how a company could do that to someone who's already packed their whole life into boxes and is counting on you showing up. We built the business around not being that company.
We didn't have some big pivot moment where we changed how we operate — we aimed for real, careful service from day one, and that's just stayed consistent as we've grown. Today that's added up to over 3,000 completed jobs — local moves, labor-only help, junk removal, loading and unloading — across the Seattle area. I still train our crew personally, so that same standard carries through to every job, not just the ones I'm on myself.
We keep growing every year, and where we're headed next is more of the same: extending our service area further north, south, and west, using materials we actually trust, and staying genuinely better at this than we were the year before.
